Proprietor Jay Cox of The Old Farm Christmas Place and Paul Freeman of Brooks Post and Beam collaborated in conjunction with Maine Preservation for more than a year on the barn’s design. All parties were keen to ensure that the addition fit well with the farm’s historic homestead and scenic layout. The Farm, also known as the Dyer-Hutchinson farm, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The land has been farmed nearly continuously since the late 1700’s.
